Daniel Dwyer, PhD, Regional Vice President, Mission Integration

Dan is a highly skilled executive, ethicist and educator with more than 30 years of experience in the health care field. He has worked in many environments including health care systems, hospitals, clinics and medical colleges. Dan is deeply committed to mission and to broadening and deepening understanding of Catholic identity and Catholic social teaching within a healing ministry.

In addition to performing the duties and responsibilities of Vice President of Mission Integration at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Dan serves as regional representative to the Diocese of Santa Rosa and support mission integration throughout the region in conjunction with the VPMIs in Sonoma and Humboldt counties.

Before joining Queen of the Valley, Dan served as senior vice president of Mission Integration for Trinity Health in Livonia, MI, where he was responsible for the supervision of 30 mission and ethics leaders across the health system. Prior to this role, Dan served as director of Mission and Community Health for Sisters of Mercy Health System.

Dan holds a master's of theology in Health Care Mission from Aquinas School of Theology, as well as a doctor of philosophy in Urban Social Institutions and a master's of science in Social Work, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has also completed the Individual and Group Spiritual Direction Program at the Shalem Institute of Spiritual Formation in Washington, DC. Dan served as an officer in the United States Army for four years, and is a published author on topics including spirituality and the workplace, palliative care, ethics, and leadership.
