Napa, CA – On March 1, 2008, Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation celebrated its 50th Anniversary by holding a Gala at the Meritage Resort. Over 400 guests attended Saturday’s event, which raised over $250,000 in the live auction, including $150,000 raised to benefit Queen of the Valley’s Cancer Wellness Program Scholarship Fund.
"Our focus was to raise funds for cancer patients," said Dick Green, Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation. "This year’s event far exceeded our expectations and could not have happened without the generous support from our community, medical staff, donors, and local vintners."
The evening was filled with an array of elegant wines, provided by premium Napa Valley wineries, followed by a tantalizing four-course meal.
"The Queen’s Gala was one of Meritage’s most proud moments," said Sean Dempsey, Director of Client Relations and Business Development. "The best event we’ve had at the resort since opening 19-months ago."
Entertainment for the evening included a historical program presented by Dennis Sisto, QVMC’s President and CEO, the hilarious comedy act of The Smothers Brother and music by Sterling Productions.
The Golden Underwriter of the evening was Camie Bianchi, owner of Your Home…Nursing Service.
