(Napa, CA) -- Congressman Mike Thompson, 1st Congressional District visited Queen of the Valley Medical Center on May 10, touring the Queen's Wellness Center and afterwards speaking to community members, physicians, and staff about the recently passed Health Care Reform Bill.
"We were happy to have the Congressman tour our Wellness Center and see first-hand what we are doing in the area of wellness and prevention," said Dennis Sisto, President and CEO at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. "His support for greater access to health care and his emphasis on wellness and prevention programs are greatly appreciated and we look forward to working with him in the future."
Queen of the Valley’s Wellness Center, the only medically based wellness center in Northern California, offers professionally supervised programs that address chronic disease management, comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation, personal fitness and wellness, and women’s services. Services offered by the Wellness Center empower patients and community members to take an active role in making lifestyle changes that will lead to better health and a decreased use of acute healthcare resources.
"At Queen of the Valley, we offer the highest quality and most advanced treatment for a variety of acute conditions, but we also strive to keep people healthy and to help those with health conditions integrate into safe, medically supervised wellness programs so they can move from a state of recovery to a state of fitness," said Sisto.
Following the tour of the Wellness Center the Congressman sat down with community members, physicians, and staff of Queen of the Valley Medical Center and discussed the recently passed Health Care Reform Bill.
