Queen of the Valley Medical Center Named National "Overall Best Performer" by Avatar International

(Napa, CA) – Queen of the Valley Medical Center has been named a "2009 Overall Best Performer" by Avatar International, a nationally recognized leader in continuous assessment and quality improvement in patient care services for over 25 years.

The Queen’s Overall Best Performer award was based on the results of the hospital's 2009 patient surveys. This national award is presented to the top facilities in Avatar's national database with the highest overall combined score for Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Ambulatory Surgery. The Overall Best Performer Award recognizes high performing facilities that demonstrate consistency of experiences by patients throughout the organization for care. The award represents the top 5% in Avatar's National Database.

Queen of the Valley President and CEO Dennis Sisto says, "Everyone in our organization including physicians, nursing staff, administrative personnel and volunteers played an important role in this achievement. I commend our entire team at the Queen for working together so effectively and selflessly to care for our patients…and for earning this remarkable award."

In making the announcement, David Medvedeff, PharmD, MBA, CEO of Avatar, said: "To consistently deliver exemplary quality service for all patients throughout an organization is not an easy task. As a winner of Avatar's Overall Best Performer Award, our partners have demonstrated an ability to achieve that consistency and maintain high levels of patient satisfaction."
