Queen of the Valley Medical Center's New Mobile Dental Clinic Ready to Roll with New Slogan: "We Go Miles for Healthy Smiles"

(Napa, CA) – Queen of the Valley Medical Center's new Mobile Dental Clinic will soon sport a new look and a new slogan: "We Go Miles for Healthy Smiles," thanks to the ingenuity of some of the Queen's staff.

While replacing its original, aging Mobile Dental Clinic, the medical center invited employees, medical staff and volunteers to suggest ideas for a tagline that conveys the important work the clinic undertakes in providing comprehensive and affordable dental care for underserved children and youths in the Napa Valley.

"Over the past few years, the annual cost of maintaining the existing mobile clinic has steadily increased and we have been considering various options for replacing the current mobile dental clinic and continuing this important service. Fortunately, the Queen recently obtained a grant and as a result, a new and improved state-of-the-art mobile clinic will soon be ready to hit the road," said Jaime Peñaherrera, Queen’s Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations.

"Staff members submitted dozens of great entries and we really appreciated their enthusiastic response. We believe the chosen slogan sums up, in a fun and engaging way, the Mobile Dental Clinic's mission," says Peñaherrera.

For more than seven years, the Queen’s Mobile Dental Clinic program has served young residents of the Napa Valley, ranging in age from six months to the recently increased age of 21. The clinic brings care directly to low-income children at specific locations in Napa County neighborhoods.

During the past fiscal year, the mobile clinic had 2,750 visits (554 new patients) with an average of 230 patients per month. The results of this care are striking: patients seen by the clinic staff demonstrated a 95 percent improvement in overall oral health after six months, and during the same period, experienced a 92 percent decrease in cavities.

The acute need for this type of service, coupled with the dramatic improvements realized by young patients treated, helped the Queen obtain a grant to replace the original mobile clinic with a new, stateof-the-art model.

"We are so grateful to staff and the community for supporting the Queen's Mobile Dental Clinic and the need it fulfills in ensuring children receive the dental care that is so important to their overall health and development. This type of shared commitment helps us create a healthier community," says Dana Codron, Executive Director of the Queen's Community Outreach Program.
