In the Pink Honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Napa, CA -- In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October, 1313 Main will partner with Queen of the Valley Foundation (QVF) to present the inaugural "In the Pink" - a month-long endeavor to raise awareness of cancer wellness programs through entertaining and enlightening activities.

Al Jabarin, founder/proprietor of 1313 Main, wanted to constructively channel his own personal understanding of cancer into a community endeavor. "Many of us have been touched by cancer," says Al. "This is our way of supporting efforts to build awareness and wellness programs for cancer in an inspired, fun and respectful way."

Aptly titled 'In the Pink' - the color of the ribbon that represents the fear and hope of cancer, and a phrase meaning in perfect condition, especially of health - the month will feature lots of special fund-raising activities and offers, including:

  • Kick off/unveiling - Tuesday, October 2, 4-6pm (happy hour)
  • Winemaker Wednesdays - October 3, 10, 17, 24
  • Cru 32 - special promotion of 1313 Main's private label (proceeds will be donated to QVF)
  • Bubbles & Beats - every Friday and Saturday, 9pm-1am
  • In the Pink & Black Halloween Ball

Wednesday, October 31, 9pm-midnight

$100/person

a fundraising gala, featuring fabulous finger foods, supreme wines, DJ dancing, photobooth, raffle prizes, and prizes for outstanding getups (don your best pink or black cocktail attire/costume - come on, you know you want to!)

The month will kick off with a reception on Tuesday, October 2, to unveil one awesome nine-foot high, big pink... [EMBARGOED until October 2...bra] sculpture (aka: Big Pink) by artist Steffan Gold of Architectural Signs & Associates. Enjoy happy hour prices.

Let the bidding begin! For the entire month of October, Big Pink will be mounted atop the 1313 Main tower lit in pink lights and posted on eBay for bidding. On midnight, October 31, it will be unhooked and delivered to the highest bidder.

Proceeds from 'In the Pink' events and sales, including the sale of Big Pink, will go to benefit Queen of the Valley Foundation's Cancer Wellness Program - designed to complement cancer therapy by strengthening the body, enriching the mind, and nurturing hope and courage. Services are generously available to all cancer patients, regardless of economic level, through the support of the Queen of the Valley Foundation.

Special thanks to the many supporters who helped make the premier of "In the Pink" possible!
