Andrew Nothmann, MD, Steps into New Role as Queen of the Valley Medical Center’s Chief of Staff

(Napa, Calif. – March 17, 2016) In recognition of his communication skills, integrity and vision, Andrew Nothmann, MD, was elected by his colleagues to serve as the 2016-2018 Chief of Staff for Queen of the Valley Medical Center. As a board-certified physician, and the former emergency department director of Napa County’s only level III trauma center, Andrew Nothmann, MD has been at the front lines of patient care for the past 13 years.

In his new role, he leads Queen of the Valley Medical Center’s 300 physicians, serves on the Board of Trustees and ensures Queen of the Valley continues to provide high-quality, compassionate, patient and family-centered care to the thousands of Napa residents who need hospital services every year. As Chief of Staff, Dr. Nothmann is involved with physician engagement, credentialing, training and education to ensure Queen of the Valley continues to surpass patient satisfaction and quality expectations.

Dr. Nothmann grew up in Pennsylvania and attended medical school at St. Georges University School of Medicine after receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees from Georgetown University. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, California after internship at the University of Connecticut in Hartford.

In addition to his role at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Dr. Nothmann is active in the community. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the City of Napa Fire Department, AMR Ambulance Napa County, American Canyon Fire Department and the EMS Programs at Napa Valley College. In his spare time, Dr. Nothmann enjoys spending time with his family and rock climbing.
