Did you know that almost one million children in California are uninsured?  Over 80% are from working families, but the cost of health insurance is rising faster than the rate of inflation for both families and employers.

Queen of the Valley Medical Center and the St. Joseph Health System are part of a broad coalition of healthcare providers and advocacy organizations in California working to protect children's health by offering better access to healthcare for those who are uninsured.

It is estimated that nearly two-thirds of uninsured children may be eligible for state-funded healthcare coverage.  Let us help you determine if your child qualifies for one of these programs.  Coverage may include:

Getting coverage for children helps parents make sure kids get the healthcare they need to stay well.

We will work closely with you to determine your children's access to healthcare needs and help identify the resources to meet those needs.  Our Children's Access to Healthcare team includes state trained application assisters who are aware of current insurance availability and requirements.  They are available to meet with you to:

• Provide support and answer questions regarding healthcare benefits and options
• Determine health insurance eligibility
• Provide health insurance application packets and assist in their completion and submission
• Provide community resources, assistance and referrals
