Approximately 300,000 Americans die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) each year - more than lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and AIDs combined.

Queen of the Valley Medical Center, in collaboration with The Via Foundation, has created the Queen’s Heart Safe Program to help increase the survival rate from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in Napa County.

The national SCA survival rate is only 10%. Comprehensive, public access AED programs can increase the SCA survival rate to 40% or higher.

The Queen's Heart Safe Program is a collaborative effort to increase the survival rate from SCA in our community by providing discounted Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and training, teaching CPR, and offering long-term program management solutions for businesses, organizations, and schools throughout Napa County.

AED Packages include:

  • AED with carrying case, battery and electrodes
  • A spare set of electrodes
  • Alarmed wall cabinet
  • Wall sign
  • Initial medical authorization
  • Site assessment
  • First year of medical direction
  • First year of maintenance services
  • CPR training (offered separately)

Annual Maintenance Services:

  • Replacement battery and electrodes every two years
  • Replacement battery and electrodes after each time the AED is used (up to once per year)
  • Ongoing medical direction
  • Event download and evaluation
  • Monthly maintenance emails
  • Expiration date tracking
  • Upgrade and recall service
  • Policy and procedure assistance

Consider becoming a bronze, silver, or gold sponsor for an AED at a school or non-profit organization within Napa County. A plaque acknowledging your donation will be placed on the AED wall cabinet and you will have the knowledge that you potentially helped save a life.
