Dr. Umutyan is a two-time Merit Award winner for publications in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting Proceedings. Dr. Umutyan recently was awarded the Values in Action Award by St Joseph Health System for exemplifying commitment to Dignity & Excellence.

Dr. Umutyan was born in Turkey and grew up in different parts of Europe.
He completed his high school education at the European School of Munich
with an International Baccalaureate before coming to California to attend
St. Mary’s College on a full academic scholarship. He graduated
Summa Cum Laude and received the “De La Salle Award” for academic
After graduating as a Dean Scholar from the University of Southern California,
Keck School of Medicine, Dr. Umutyan moved to Sacramento to complete his
internship and residency at the University of California, Davis Medical
Center. After completing his residency, he served as Chief Resident in
the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Umutyan received his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology
at U.C. Davis while serving as a physician with Kaiser Permanente and
Mather Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Sacramento. He is a
two-time Merit Award winner for publications in the American Society of
Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting Proceedings. He joined Redwood
Regional Medical Group practicing Hematology and Medical Oncology at their
Napa offices in 2007 and spent seven years with the group before joining
Annadel Medical Group in 2014.
When Dr. Umutyan is not seeing patients, he enjoys road biking, soccer,
skiing, and spending time with family.
