As Napa County’s only Level III Trauma Center, the Queen’s Emergency Room is always ready for anything - from simple cuts and bruises to strokes, heart attacks, and most trauma cases.
Only board-certified emergency care physicians lead the Queen’s ER team, 24 hours a day. Highly skilled emergency care trained nurses and clinicians support every shift with access to the most advanced diagnostic and resuscitation equipment in the area. And the Queen’s nationally recognized specialists in cardiac, cancer, orthopedic, urology - supported by our state-of-the-art robotic surgery technology - are on call and nearby.
The Queen’s ER also serves as the base station for Napa County emergency services connecting emergency ground vehicles, the California Highway Patrol and Med-Evac helicopters.
NAPA VALLEY EMERGENCY MEDICAL GROUP
The Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group has provided care for the patients at Queen of the Valley Medical Center since 1972. The Queen’s Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by Emergency Physicians who are all diplomates of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. NVEMG is one of only 10 Emergency Medicine groups in the State of California to be members of the 100% Club; Fellows of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
OUR STATE-OF-ART TECHNOLOGY
The Queen’s ER is equipped with the most advanced resuscitation equipment including Goal Directed Bedside Ultrasound, GlideScope and the Belmont rapid infuser. We also provide an excellent array of On-Call Specialists including Trauma, General Surgery, Orthopedic and Hand Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, CardioThoracic Surgery, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Pulmonary/critical Care. The Queen’s ER has been using an Electronic Health Record since 2007.
LEVEL III REGIONAL TRAUMA CENTER
Napa County residents and visitors rely on Queen of the Valley Medical Center as the only State designated Trauma Center within 35 miles of the Napa Valley. We provide initial evaluation, stabilization and life saving care to over 30,000 visits each year.
The Queen also serves as the base station for Napa County emergency services connecting emergency ground vehicles, the California Highway Patrol and Med-Evac helicopters. A helicopter-landing pad is located just outside Emergency Department doors.
CHEST PAIN CENTER
When your heart’s in trouble, every second is precious, because restoring blood flow is the most important factor in preventing damage to the heart. Opening clogged arteries, and fast, is what emergency cardiac medicine is all about. And at the Queen, a carefully orchestrated team pinpoints problems and delivers medications and treatment to limit damage to the heart.
Queen of the Valley is also equipped with a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab, ready to treat heart attacks at a moment's notice. Physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine provide 24-hour coverage in the Emergency Department, while medical and surgical specialists are on-call around the clock.
