Sr. Felicia Sarati, CSJ
Sister Felicia Sarati has been a Sister of St. Joseph for 55 years. She is Director of the 12 Ethnic Pastoral Centers, Diocese of Oakland, California, a position she has held since 1984. She serves as the diocesan liaison to the Asian-Indian, Brazilian, Chinese, Eritrean, Fijian, Indonesian, Kmhmu, Korean, Nigerian, Polish, Tongan and Vietnamese communities. The Portuguese and Filipino communities are now parish-based ministries. She provides leadership in both communities through their continuing relationship with the Division of Pastoral Centers. Over the past 22 years, Sister has become very aware of the unique gifts that each community has gifted the Diocese, which now experiences religious cultural diversity as a treasure in the Church.
Sister Felicia is a member of the Advisory Board of the USCCBIPCMR (Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees Washington, D. C. and is regional representative for Northern California. Additionally, she is on the staff of the National Association of Asian Pacific Catholics, Consulter for two USCCB Pastorals, Welcoming the Stranger: Unity in Diversity; and Asian and Pacific Presence: Harmony in Faith. Sister was a Teacher for 15 years (CSJ Schools) and Director of Religious Education in three parishes.
