COMMUNITY BENEFITS

Queen of the Valley believes strongly in its legal and ethical commitment to provide the highest level of health care for those ignored or misrepresented by society at large.

Queen of the Valley's Community Outreach Programs and Initiatives are based on findings from comprehensive research and Community Health Access Assessments, periodically conducted by the our medical center to identify community needs, develop service strategies, and form partnerships to address key concerns.

Through the development and implementation of these key programs and initiatives, Community Outreach helps generate improved mental, physical and spiritual health.  We use feedback from our healthcare professionals, patients and community to create programs and a line of services that engender cooperation and empower the individual.

These community benefit programs and activities are carefully monitored to document and measure progress and this information is reported annually through the medical center's Community Benefits Report.

The Queen's Community Benefit Program follows the "Advancing the State of the Art in Community Benefits" (ASACB) guidelines, as required by Legislative Senate Bill (SB 697) and includes the following princilples:

  • Emphasis on Disproportionate Unmet Health-related Needs (DUHN)
  • Emphasis on Primary Prevention
  • Build Seamless Contimuum of Care
  • Build Community Capacity
  • Emphasis on Collaborative Governance
