(Napa , CA) – A recent, hi-tech addition to our Queen of the Valley
Medical Center surgical team needs a name. And the Queen is looking to
area kids to lend a hand and in the process win exciting prizes. The winner
will receive $100. The winner’s class will also receive a WiiTM
system and WiiTM fit and his/her school will receive $500. In addition,
the winner’s class will be invited on a tour of the Queen’s
surgery department - where the new robot is used.
"The Queen has been doing robotically assisted surgeries since 2002.
But our newly updated da Vinci surgical system brings a lot of new and
improved capabilities to the Napa Valley," says Napa surgeon Dr.
Susan Gonzalez. "It comes with all the very latest positioning, guiding
and monitoring capabilities. All it needs now is a name. And we are hoping
the kids of our community will help us pick a good one."
"The Queen is celebrating the arrival of their new daVinci system
by sponsoring a contest for kids to name the surgery robot. In the process,
we hope to engage area children, parents and teachers in learning about
how this revolutionary technology helps surgeons perform complex procedures
with less pain, less scarring and less time in the hospital" says
Jaime Peñaherrera, the Queen’s Director of Marketing, Communications
and Public Relations.
Kids can enter their surgery robot name online by downloading the entry form at
Entries must be received by November 19, 2010. Entrants must be ages 10
or younger to participate. For complete contest guidelines, please visit
