Four Pink Fire Trucks Roll into Queen of the Valley Medical Center

(Napa, CA) – On May 31, 2011, the "Guardians of the Ribbon" will bring again four pink fire trucks carrying a very important message to Napa.

The Guardians are firefighters, policemen and community leaders from around the country dedicated to the fight against all types of cancer affecting women. Since 2007, their pink fire trucks have traveled from coast-to-coast encouraging communities, and particularly men, to show their support of women.

"Anything is possible as long as lots of good people are involved. And we are thrilled to be reaching more and more communities across the country as more and more fire stations get involved," says Dave Graybill, Founder of the Guardians of the Ribbon. "We have four trucks working together here in the Napa area this year. And we hope even more people will come out to support us at the Queen."

The Guardian’s four bright pink trucks, including our Napa fire station’s truck, will be on display at Queen of the Valley Medical Center from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon the trucks will visit the Home Depot in the South Napa Marketplace from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

"Please join the Queen of the Valley Regional Cancer Center in supporting the Pink Heals movement by signing the four trucks in honor of someone in your life affected by cancer" says Jaime Peñaherrera, Queen of the Valley Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations. "And be sure to visit with the Guardians of the Ribbon."

"Early detection is critical factor in effectively treating and curing all types of cancer," says oncologist Dr. Ari Umutyan. "Groups such as the Guardians of the Ribbon do a great job of helping to get that message to people everywhere."
