Queen of the Valley/ St. Joseph Health System Executive Named Among "Top 11 Women in Business for 2011" by North Bay Business Journal

(Napa, CA) – Queen of the Valley Medical Center (QVMC) and St. Joseph Health are proud to announce that that Elizabeth Glenn-Bottari, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for Integrative Health at St. Joseph Health System/QVMC, has been named by the North Bay Business Journal as one of 11 leading Women in Business for 2011. Elizabeth has been instrumental in directing the expansion of Integrative Health Services, particularly in the outstanding success of the Wellness Center state-of-the-art fitness and rehab facilities at QVMC.

This award is presented each year to a select group of leaders, innovators and visionaries in organizations across the North Bay. This year’s awards will be presented at the 11th annual Women in Business gala celebration, held on June 23 at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Sharing this year’s award are two other women whose leadership exemplifies St. Joseph Health Systems’ commitment to excellence and compassionate care. Kathy Hardin, Chief Nursing Officer at St. Joseph Health, Sonoma County brings a similar dedication to patients in her native Sonoma County; and Pamela Chanter, Vice President of VANTREO Insurance Brokerage, contributes her expertise in serving on the Board of Trustees at our sister hospital, Santa Rosa Memorial.

Glenn-Bottari has been at the helm of the Wellness Center since its founding in 2006. Consistent with the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange – "to continually improve the quality of life of people in the communities we serve" – the Center supports people in lifestyle choices that contribute to their physical, mental and spiritual well being, and helps them take charge of their own health and recovery.

Programs range from traditional rehabilitation for post-surgical patients, to integrative practices such as stress management and nutritional counseling, to the Synergy Medical Fitness Center’s wide array of programs and classes for people of all ages, tastes and fitness levels.

Glenn-Bottari takes special pride in the scope of services provided by Queen’s Wellness Center facility: "Our Wellness Center provides a full range of exercise, disease prevention and management and rehabilitation programs under one roof. As one of the largest and most comprehensive facilities of its kind in Northern California, our Center is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for everyone in the communities we serve. Whether you are recovering from an illness or injury, trying to lose weight or simply staying in shape the Wellness Center offers the resources that can help you reach your goals."

In learning of the award Walt Mickens, incoming President and Chief Executive Officer at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, commented: "Throughout her tenure at QVMC, Elizabeth has embodied the organization’s mission and values in her visionary and tireless work to improve health and wellness among all members of our community. We congratulate Elizabeth on this honor, and are proud to recognize her role on our organization’s leadership team." And announcing the awards, banking executive Deborah Meekins, a founder of the event, noted: "These awards put a spotlight on the leadership these incredible women have displayed… and also provide role models for young women who are just starting out in their careers."
