(Napa, Calif. – May 11, 2016) –Queen of the Valley Foundation celebrates its 39th annual
Day for the Queen at Silverado Resort with a tennis tournament and the Murray Memorial Golf
Tournament on Friday, July 22. The annual fundraising event brings the
community together for a day of golf and tennis in support of Queen of
the Valley Medical Center.
Participants in the Murray Memorial Golf Tournament can choose between
the Shamble and Scramble formats; tee time for both is 8:00 a.m. Entry
fees include golf, lunch and giveaways, followed by an after-party with
food from Compadres Rio Grille, awards ceremony and silent auction.
The tennis tournament kicks off at 8:30 a.m. It includes clinics by Peter
Burwash International (PBI) pros, mixed round robins, an exhibition match
by University of the Pacific, a silent auction, and an after-party with
the golfers.
Proceeds from this year’s Day for the Queen will help fund a transformation
of Queen of the Valley Medical Center’s Emergency Department so
that Napa County residents and visitors can experience world-class emergency
and trauma care in a warm and compassionate environment – now, and
for years to come.
The
Day for the Queen golf and tennis tournaments draw on the support of many talented and philanthropic-minded
individuals, including tennis tournament co-chairs Christy Gianelli and
Susan Mickens and golf tournament co-chairs Jim Andrews and Dan Dwyer.
