Napa, Calif. (June 22, 2017) – Queen of the Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment
of Kim Brown Sims MBA, BSN, RN, FACHE Qualified Candidate, to Vice President
of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Brown Sims brings
a wealth of experience, leadership skills and personal commitment to this position.
Brown Sims previously served for three years as the Chief Nurse Executive
at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. She has excelled
in a number of administrative and clinical roles, including: Assistant
Administrator of Women and Children’s Services for Sutter Medical
Center in Sacramento; Director of Administrative Services at Kaiser Permanente
in Roseville; and Interim Manager of the NICU, Assistant Nurse Manager
of the NICU and staff nurse in the NICU at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento.
During her time on the leadership team at Sierra Vista, the hospital was
awarded with Tenet Health’s Circle of Excellence for delivering
best-in-class patient care and patient experiences and attaining superior
satisfaction scores from physicians and caregivers. In addition, the hospital
achieved five point overall improvement on the AHRQ Culture of Safety
Survey during her time on the executive team.

Brown Sims has an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Solano Community
College; a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from California State
University, Sacramento and a Master’s in Business Administration
from Trident University International. She earned her vocational nursing
certificate from Napa Valley College and is excited to be back in the
Napa Valley.
