Napa, Calif. (September 11, 2017) – Queen of the Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment
of Dushyant Oza, MD, as the Chief Neonatologist and Director of Newborn
Services. Dr. Oza joined St. Joseph Health Medical Group in July and he
works in the Queen of the Valley (QVMC) Maternal and Infant Care Center.
Dr. Oza cares for babies who are born at term, pre-term and/or require
specialized care and monitoring in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
He is responsible for providing mothers, their families and newborns with
a higher level of neonatal care. In addition, Dr. Oza will be involved
in educating, supporting and providing resources and guidance to nurses.

labor and delivery team, and other departments throughout the hospital,
Dr. Oza will help us move forward in our journey to become accredited

He brings a wealth of experience to this position, having previously served
in a faculty position at Stanford University, as well as leading in several
clinical and administrative roles. He served as the Director of the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Chair of the Pediatric Department at a
community hospital in the Bay Area for several years. He has helped community
hospitals across California become Level I and Level II NICU’s.
Prior to accepting this position, Dr. Oza worked as a locum tenens physician
at QVMC for two years.

Dr. Oza earned his Bachelors in Medicine, Bachelors in Surgery (MBBS) degree
from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore, India. He completed
his pediatric residency at Ochsner-Tulane Program in New Orleans. He is
board-certified, and recertified, in neonatology from the University of
Louisville in Kentucky.
Dr. Oza has lived in other states over the years, but he has called the
Bay Area home for more than 35 years. Dr. Oza hails from a family of physicians.
He is a mentor to his two children who are in medical school pursuing
specialties in pediatrics and internal medicine.
