Queen of the Valley’s New Urgent Care Clinic - St. Joseph Health Prompt Care - Opening on April 24, 2017

(Napa, Calif. – April 19, 2017) Queen of the Valley’s new urgent care clinic — St. Joseph Health Prompt Care — will open its doors at River Park Shopping Center (1621 West Imola Ave, Napa, CA 94559) on Monday, April 24, 2017. The 3,543-square-foot clinic brings much-needed urgent care services to the city of Napa, offering affordable treatments and same-day medical care.

St. Joseph Health Prompt Care will benefit individuals with minor illnesses — such as belly aches, sore throats, ear and sinus infections, or injuries — such as small cuts and fractures — that require timely attention, and may not be serious enough for the emergency room, which should be reserved for conditions that may be life threatening, such as head injuries or sudden severe pain.

“There were not a lot of options for Napa residents and visitors up until now,” said Thomas Sprinkle, MD, Medical Director of St. Joseph Health Prompt Care in Napa. “If you went to the ER, you might find yourself behind someone with a much higher acuity and have a longer wait time.”

St. Joseph Health Prompt Care has four treatment rooms that are staffed with a team of caregivers including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants and Radiology Technologists. There are four treatment rooms and an x-ray room, which offers portable digital x-rays that will be sent electronically to the Queen of the Valley’s radiologist who will work with the provider to develop an appropriate treatment plan. The clinic is stocked with everything necessary to diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses and injuries.

“St. Joseph Health Prompt Care can get you in front of a provider fast, [especially] if you don’t have a primary care physician or cannot get an appointment with them. This gives you easier access to care 7 days a week,” Sprinkle said.

Urgent care services will be available daily from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (with the exception of major holidays), and will accept all types of insurance, including Medi-Cal and Medicare.

In addition, primary care providers can refer patients to Prompt Care for blood draws and x-rays. Prompt Care’s outpatient lab draw station, will be open Monday through Friday. Hours of operation for the lab are: 7:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
