Queen of the Valley Foundation to Honor Cristina and Lee Hudson at Generous Heart Event

Queen of the Valley Foundation will honor Cristina and Lee Hudson at its annual Generous Heart event, held on September 22, 2018, at Shadybrook Estate Winery.

The Hudsons, proprietors of Hudson Vineyards and Hudson Goods & Greens, grow, produce and sell a diverse selection of produce, meat, poultry and olive oil in addition to growing grapes and making wine. Their agrarian vision includes cultivating the highest quality products—all farmed sustainably and without hormones or antibiotics.

The Hudsons share a deep commitment with Queen of the Valley Medical Center to supporting health and disease prevention. They are a philanthropic force in the Napa Valley, providing support for a wide range of health care, education and land organizations. This devotion to the well-being of the Napa community is what inspires the Hudsons in their work and life and it is why they are supporting Generous Heart as honorees.

Proceeds from the Generous Heart event will help fund the expansion and enhancement of the Obstetrics and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) Pavilion.

Nearly 700 infants are delivered at Queen of the Valley each year. Fifteen percent of these babies are born critically ill and require life-saving intervention. In the last 12 months, the Queen’s NICU saw a 200% rise in patients. As the only hospital in the region with a NICU, and with the additional births that will take place here when Sonoma Valley Hospital closes its maternity center later this year, the demands on the Queen’s obstetrics and NICU will grow.

Generous Heart will appeal to its guests with a tempting array of auction lots. The lineup includes a vertical of coveted double magnums from Aubert Wines; a buy-a-spot dinner to dine with Napa Valley’s luminary vintners at the Hudsons’ Ranch; a Kentucky Derby experience; and an immersion into the world of luxury cars at the Concourse d’ Elegance at Pebble Beach. Aaron Bastien of Bonhams, a privately owned British auction house and one of the sponsors for Generous Heart, will serve as auctioneer for the event, assisted by Rob Mondavi, Jr.

The Generous Heart event draws on the support of many talented and philanthropic-minded individuals, including event honorary chairs, Cristina and Lee Hudson and co-chairs Erin Simms, Lydia Mondavi, Beth Fenton and Lauren Nicholsen. Major sponsors include Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield, Ed and Linda Barwick, Wells Fargo, Safeway Open, Bank of Marin, Joanne and Ron Birtcher, Bonhams, Ulla and John Brown, Cello-Maudru Construction, Steve Lebow, Jim Maggetti, Napa Valley Orthopaedic Group, NexGen - Center for Wound Healing, Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Shadybrook Estate Winery and Sunday Goods.
