  • Biography

Dr. Tawhid R. Gazi was born and raised in Connecticut where his Dad, also a gastroenterologist, is still in practice. He received his education from Tufts University in Boston, where he completed a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in interventional gastroenterology. He is qualified to provide full spectrum GI care, from screening colonoscopies to complex pancreatic procedures. His personal philosophy is to provide collaborative care to all his patients in a warm community environment that still offers all the cutting edge therapies of an academic center. His particular interests include Endoscopic Ultrasound and Endoscopic weight loss (Orbera) which both achieve excellent results while sparing patients invasive surgeries, hospital stays, and scars. He is fluent in Spanish.

I liked Dr. Gazi very much. He was professional, considerate, and listened to my concerns. The only thing I wished were different was how long it took to get the appointment to address a condition that had me very uncomfortable. I had to wait over two months. I'm not faulting him for that.
Dr Gazi was very attentive. He answered my questions frankly and to the point. it was refreshing. I think he will be very good at finding out why I am having pain and why I feel like I do. that is reassuring.
    good care
    All good so far
this is my first visit to Dr. Gazi. I was leaving Dr.Freeto because of his pending retirement. I didn't feel like I was able to really speak with him at all. I felt very rushed and unable to ask questions etc. now I won't be able to see him for 5 weeks. He wanted to give me an endoscopy and I don't know why? He wants so send me to UCSF and I don't know why?? Hence, I didn't have the time!! However, he was very kind and had great bedside manner.
