Peggy Herman Neuroscience Center

World-Class Brain and Spine Care — Right Here in Napa

If you or someone you love ever has a neurological or spinal condition, or suffers from a traumatic nervous system injury, world-class care is right here in Napa.

The Peggy Herman Neuroscience Center at the Queen of the Valley offers world-class, immediate brain and spine care in a collaborative effort with the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco – a world leader in health care.

This relationship also provides a link to all the neurosurgical services offered at UCSF Medical Center, ranked among the top five neurology and neurosurgery programs in the nation and “Best in the West” in the U.S. News & World Report 2011-2012 survey of America’s premier hospitals.

Recognized for treating strokes fast, Queen of the Valley is Napa County's only Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center. This designation demonstrates that Queen of the Valley’s services have the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes for stroke care.

The Complete Continuum of Care — Plus 24/7 Emergency Services

The Center treats patients suffering from neurological conditions such as tumors, spinal lesions, peripheral nerve disorders, many cerebrovascular disorders, acute and chronic pain syndromes, and the majority of brain and spinal injuries–-and offers a full continuum of care that includes prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The Queen boasts the only trauma, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient wellness centers in Napa Valley. Whenever you need us, we are close and ready to help 24/7.

The Queen’s neuroscience team includes: neurosurgeons, nurses, physical and speech therapists–-who together follow a team approach to planning and carrying out a program of care based on each patient’s needs and preferences.

The Peggy Herman Neuroscience Center was made possible, in part, by a generous gift from Tim Herman, a QVMC Foundation Trustee, to the QVMC Foundation. The Center is named in memory of his wife, Peggy Guthrie Herman, who passed away in 2007 following a traumatic brain injury.
