Guardians of the Ribbon – "Pink Heals Tour" Brings Message of Support for Women to Napa

(Napa, CA) – On June 2, 2010, the "Guardians of the Ribbon" will bring their bright pink fire trucks, their movement and an important message to Napa.

The Guardians are firefighters, policemen and community leaders from around the country dedicated to the fight against all types of cancer affecting women. Since 2007 their pink fire trucks have traveled from coast-to-coast encouraging communities, and particularly men, to show their support of women.

"We believe that anything is possible as long as you are surrounded by good people," says Dave Graybill, Founder of the Guardians of the Ribbon. "That’s why we have set out to carry our message to as many communities as possible."

The bright pink trucks will be on display at Queen of the Valley Hospital from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon the truck will visit the Home Depot in the South Napa Marketplace from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

"Everyone is invited to stop by to visit with the Guardians of the Ribbon," say Jaime Peñaherrera, Queen of the Valley Director of Marketing, and Public Relations. "You can join the Queen of the Valley Regional Cancer Center in supporting the movement by signing their pink fire trucks in honor of someone in your life affected by cancer."

"Early detection is a critical factor in treating and curing all types of cancer," says oncologist Dr. Ari Umutyan. "And groups such as the Guardians of the Ribbon are very important in making sure that message reaches women all over the nation."
