Bringing you the best of health also means providing state-of-the-art treatment services for all aspects of cardiovascular disease. Queen of the Valley Medical Center's Regional Heart Center is committed to bringing the community many new treatment technologies. We also perform many state-of-the-art interventional procedures. The Heart Center actively works on developing treatment options to enhance patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Our Heart Center now boasts two Cardiac Catheterization Labs which utilize sophisticated x-ray equipment to measure heart function and a staff of cardiac specialists to provide advanced interventional and medical treatments. The hospital’s cardiology team, which includes triple board-certified interventional cardiologists and a staff of technicians and specially trained nurses, is on call 24 hours a day.

Procedures conducted in the Catheterization Lab include:

  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Balloon Angioplasty
  • Placement of stents

Sergio Manubens, MD, Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab, is one of three triple-board certified cardiologists at Queen of the Valley Hospital. He emphasizes that new studies in the New England Journal of Medicine show that outcomes are better when troubled hearts reach the hospitals with full catheterization labs, not simply the closest hospital.
